Class 1 had a really meaningful number and shape walk round Crosby-on-Eden village, spotting local landmarks, shapes numbers and signs of autumn. We have raised money for Macmillan from selling apples at front door.
Class 2 – Y1’s are settling into class really well and they are adapting to their new environment, showing more independence and maturity in their learning. Y2 have done so well with their literacy and have tried really hard at extending their writing.
Class 3 – We have seen an improvement in children reading at home – well done! The children did really well with their spellings last week – particularly Y3 getting used to our new system.
Class 4 – We are really pleased with Class 4 and most of our children have learnt their lines for our forthcoming Harvest Festival Service without any help or looking at lines. Home learning is improving and the children are remembering their independence and taking responsibility for their own things such as their PE kits and reading records. Well done, a great improvement!
We enjoyed our trip to the woods last week, where we were looking at the weather and used thermometers and air pressure gauges. We also enjoyed using the ‘Green Screen’ and the Teachers taught some of the Y6 pupils who then taught the other pupils. The children’s learning included English, Science, maths and Geography.
Thank you to everyone for attending our values assembly on Friday and to the children who so clearly explained what each value was and how they showed it in school.
After voting finished, we can confirm that our new school values are friendship, respect, perseverance and trust.
A great big well done to our girls team, who took part in 7 a-side football competition at Richard Rose Central Academy recently. Our girls played with fantastic team spirit and enthusiasm.
Class 4 have been learning all about the climate, biomes and vegetation belts in our local woods. As part of our rainforest topic, the children have been taking part in different types of fieldwork to observe, measure and record human and physical features. Recording the results in a range of ways.
