Teaching and learning celebrations w/c 23/05/2022

Class 1  This week we are celebrating an exciting week of science activities.  The children in Class 1 were so enthused by our activities that many of them have decided that they now want to be scientists or astronauts when they grow up.  The children have also enjoyed preparing cucumber, cheese and pickle on sticks for our Jubilee tea party.  They learned about food hygiene and how to chop food safely and effectively.  They are excited for our tea party this afternoon.

Class 2 Class two have enjoyed doing their Jubilee invites.  I liked English because we made a Jubilee party program. We enjoyed making a collage animal in art today by ripping paper. We have liked our class party times and dancing because we have now finished SATS! We liked doing the science with David in the hall and all of the other Science. I liked making rain gauges in Geography and watching the weather this week.

Class 3 In class 3 we have been doing lots in science week, including space height, which increases by 3%, bionic hands with muscles, tendons and bones. We tasted what an astronaut in space would, whilst holding our nose, and we drew with 2 pairs of gloves on. We did exercises astronaut would have to do.

Class 4 Science week was amazing! We enjoyed working in our house teams to take part in Mission  X and train like an astronaut. Each scientific activity helped us to take steps towards the moon. We loved the Science workshop, with a real scientist and taking part in lots of exciting Science investigations: creating dry ice bubbles, creating pillars with sodium acetate,  freezing flowers using liquid nitrogen, firing nerf guns, creating force using air and creating oxygen in a jar to set off fireworks.

We have really enjoyed learning about 'The Queen's Platinum Jubilee' and taking part in Jubilee celebrations. We made blueberry and strawberry jam sandwiches to eat at the tea party!
