Teaching and learning celebrations w/c 07/06/2021

Class 1 have enjoyed their first visit to the woods and getting there on a bus!  We are really proud of our Reception children, who led a collective worship on friendship. In preparation they were able to talk about how to be a good friend and they confidently spoke to the rest of the school.

Class 2 - this week we have celebrated 'World Oceans Day', joining in with a live 'Rock Pool Ramble and Fish Feed' lesson from the 'National Marine Aquarium' , we have also learned the names of the five oceans and seven continents by creating a 3-d models of the world.  On Wednesday, the pupils relished meeting 'Harold' the giraffe, the main character in our PSHE lessons, whilst the highlight were the stars which were projected onto classes ceiling as we thought about the importance of sleep during 'Our Wonderful Body' session.

Class 3 had a brilliant visit from the Life Bus, learning all about the brain. Everyone was really engaged and it was wonderful having an outside visitor into our class.

We began our new art topic with some amazing presentation of the background of Roman mosaics in their books, investigating mosaic patterns and features.

This week, Class 4 have been really excited about starting our end of year production. They have impressed, with their dedication to learn lines and song lyrics.

We have been looking at ancient Greek artefacts and trying to guess what the artefact was and its use.

We had a visit from the Life Bus, learning about making good choices to keep our bodies healthy. The children demonstrated excellent knowledge and understanding about these issues. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the session!
