Class 1 We have been in full festive swing in Class 1. We have been busy making Christmas cards for our families, decorating salt dough decorations and completing our final Drawing Club of the year. We had a fantastic Christmas party on Thursday, with dancing, pin the nose on the reindeer, the balloon game, musical statues and pass the parcel. It was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves and celebrating when their friends won. On Friday we braved the stage again, this time for our Church Nativity. A very busy and productive half term, we hope you all have a well-deserved break and will see you in the New Year.
Class 2 began working on their new shape unit at the start of the week, re-visiting 2D and 3D shapes. We've been checking in on our reading and spelling of age-related word lists in English. Festive yoga, stories, circle games have been enjoyed, as well as some festive provision time. Our Christmas party was lots of fun, with traditional party games and dancing. Their enthusiastic singing in preparation for our Christmas carol service is a joy to hear. A lovely week to end a busy term, well done team Class 2!
Class 3 This week has been full of creativity, fun, and festive cheer! We began by making beautiful button wreath decorations, each one unique and full of colour – perfect for spreading Christmas joy. In art, we explored the fascinating world of cave paintings, using line drawings, charcoal, and watercolours to create stunning pieces inspired by prehistoric art. The children loved experimenting with different textures and techniques. On Thursday, we came together for a delicious Christmas Dinner, sharing laughter and festive spirit. Followed by our Party which was a wonderful way to finish the term, with games, music, and plenty of smiles all around. It has truly been a fantastic week, and we are so proud of everything Class 3 has achieved this term. Wishing everyone a joyful holiday and a Happy New Year!
Class 4 We’ve had an amazing time this term! From learning words for the Christmas Service to designing decorations that brighten up the village, our class has been full of creativity and kindness.
The children even made posters reminding everyone to clean up after their dogs and left poo bags in the bus shelter—what a thoughtful idea! In Design & Technology, we cooked up delicious spaghetti bolognese and enjoyed it in our very own “restaurant” in the library. Plus, we created stunning block-printed Christmas cards for family and friends. We wrapped up the term with a tasty Christmas lunch and a fun-filled party at the village hall.
Merry Christmas everyone!
