Class 1 really enjoyed their Sikh workshop on Thursday, with instruments, turbans and laughing meditation. We went on a walk around the village, looking for seasonal changes. We were excited to spot crocuses and daffodils ready to flower, as well as some buds on the trees. We have been busy showing off our fabulous phonics skills in our writing about our walk. As part of our Understanding the World we explored light and shadows, making use of the sunny day to go on a shadow hunt. In maths we have been comparing groups and representing 9 and 10 in different ways, with resources, fingers and drawings. We definitely deserve a week off, ready for more excitement!
Class 2 It was a fresh start to the week at we visited the woods on Monday where we created our jam jar 'Bog Baby' habitats and made delicious sausage and vegetable pasta for lunch. We relished being back at the Sands for some trampolining and gymnastics sessions. We've continued to weather watch and have become temperature and wind speed experts. The children enjoyed learning about some religious artefacts brought in by our Sikh visitor. We've developed our hundred square use in mathematics for adding and subtracting tens, as well as with the base ten equipment. A well-earned half-term break, well done Class 2!
This week, Class 3 have been working on formal methods of multiplication. We have also had some purposeful discussions during safer internet day and beyond - it is important to keep the conversation going! We have also enjoyed Science and making food chains. We have worked hard and focused all term and are ready for a good break!
Clas 4 have been working really hard with their writing this week; we have been focusing on adding dialogue into our stories to advance the action. Mr Taylor was very impressed with the children's singing in preparation for the Music and Drama festival. Everyone enjoyed the Sikh workshop, trying out musical instruments and finding out lots of interesting information. Internet safety day led to important discussions on how to keep safe online and using social media respectfully. Have a lovely half term Class 4!
