Class 1 have had a fantastic half term, working well and achieving so much. We are very proud of them all. Here are some of their highlights for this week:
Playing with our friends.
Learning about different animals, I love cheetahs and tigers.
I liked painting my clay face.
Reading 'You Choose' with my friends.
Doing lots of drawing.
Painting with my friend.
Football with Paul and Haydon, it was amazing and I loved it!
Class 2 I liked making the waterproof hats because it was fun colouring them with wax or oil. I loved making hats and maths because I love numbers! I liked it when we went to our books in maths to do my money work. Hat making was fun. Adding in maths on my number line. Playtime because I can play with my friends. Eating my lunch. Making our hats. Investigating waterproof materials and making my materials duck to test. Seeing if the felt tip ink had ran or not under each material on my cap. Tricha's worship time because I like her Bible stories.
Class 3 This week we have had fun doing art and painting using tonking, sgraffito and impasto. We created mythical creatures. We also have been busy finishing our Maths unit on Multiplication and division and we have learned many strategies for these. Some of us went to football and tried hard, we won some games and lost others. In Science, we have learned about evaporation and condensation and what happens to a cold can on a warm day.
Class 4 We have enjoyed completing our narrative cliffhangers in English, adding our writers knowledge to create a good piece of writing.
I have enjoyed learning how to write expressions using algebra in maths.
We have enjoyed creating our own style block printing using ideas from the artist John Brunsdon, who printed landscapes. We used skills such as reduction, overlay and incision.
In music, I have enjoyed singing a solo part while rehearsing for the Cathedral Choir Workshop.
We have enjoyed playing football matches against each other in PE with the Carlisle United coach.
In PSHE, I have enjoyed learning about how to keep safe.
We have all enjoyed Internet Safety Day, which started with a whole school assembly, then we created influences, who offered advice on how to keep safe online and shared our knowledge with each other.
Have a lovely half term everyone, well done for being fantastic learners!
FOOTBALL Well done to our Year 3-4 footballers who attended the small schools football tournament yesterday – you all played really well, represented school wonderfully and were very brave as it was a very chilly morning!
