Class 1 We have had a very busy week in Class 1!
We were very excited on Monday morning – there was a special delivery for us. We all guessed what might be inside and were pleased to discover it was caterpillars. We are now watching them as they grow and are looking forward to what happens next.
At Forest Schools we enjoyed: painting pictures in the style of Monet; using saws to cut slices of wood which we then decorated; making homes for worms and all our usual activities.
We have finished reading The Runaway Train and have been making up our own stories about the Little Red Train.
We have really enjoyed our PE sessions with Fraser and Nick and are learning lots of new skills.
Class 2 have impressed the teachers with their progamming in Scratch, using inputs and code blocks. They learned about Mae Jaemison in History, enjoyed comparing food they like or dislike with others, during DT they planned their new vehicle and learned how they will use axels and wheels to make it move. In Science they were learning about life-cycles. They have loved their three P.E. lessons this week, tennis with Miss Chambers, Cricket with Fraser and Football with Nick! New units have been started in Maths and in English we have been planning our journey story using ideas from Mr Gumpy's Outing, Motor Car and The Gingerbread Man. As usual, they have worked hard, with positivity and perseverance! Well done Class Two!
Class 3 are having a lovely time at Robinwood and have taken part in so many fun activities and have enjoyed lots of delicious food. The children are looking forward to coming home today to tell you all about it!
Class 4 have had a really productive week. Everyone had fun carrying out a variety of electricity investigations in Science, using different voltages, switches, buzzers and motors. It was very Noisy! The children's focus in maths has been amazing, they have learnt lots about angles. In English, we have been completing our character descriptions, the children have really enjoyed sketching their creatures using their descriptions. We have some horrid, gruesome, evil characters! Year 6 pupils have shown fantastic attitudes to their learning in Booster sessions. Well done, you are all amazing! Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend class 4.
