Martin PlummerCo-opted GovernorHealth & Safety GovernorAttendance GovernorI am extremely honoured to be a Governor with our school and as such I intend to help and support all involved looking to ensure every child gets the very best start on their educational journey allowing them to achieve everything they strive to achieve. My gorgeous wife Emma and I have two boys who are former pupils of Crosby On Eden school and live in a nearby village. As a retired Police Officer, I would like to see all our children embracing openness, honesty and integrity and I am a firm believer that a healthy body enhances a healthy mind. |
Rachael MartinParent GovernorMy name is Rachael Martin, I have a long history with Crosby On Eden Cof E Primary School and the village. I lived in the village until I was 18 leaving to attend university, then moved back in 2014. My dad and I went to the school and I now have two of my three children attending currently. I am a qualified Podiatrist and worked in the NHS for 11 years but my passion has always been gymnastics. I am now one of the directors and coaches at Carlisle gymnastics club which I have been a part of since I was 6 years old. We have a very busy family life but if any spare time appears I can be found eating cake! |
David TaylorParent GovernorI am a married father of three girls at the school. Originally from Carlisle, I studied Engineering at Birmingham University and then Physics in Grenoble France before re-qualifying as a solicitor in the UK. I‘m a partner in the international law firm Hogan Lovells and I returned to Carlisle last year after 22 years living and working in Paris, France. Whilst France has much to offer, nothing beats the sheer beauty of Cumbria and the Lake District so we spend as much time as we can enjoying the fells. I am a firm believer in technology and agile working - which enables me to be in Cumbria yet work around the world. |
Kerry PatersonParent GovernorI'm excited to be joining as a parent governor at Crosby on Eden. My husband Gregg and I have three girls coming up through the school and we've loved getting involved in this community. I have a BA in English from my native USA, and have lived in the UK since 2013. Our family loves walking, cycling, camping and exploring the Lakes. We also love being part of a local church where we've got to know people from all around the world, as well as those with roots right here in Cumbria. |

Debbie FoxStaff Governor & SEND GovernorMy name is Miss Fox and I am really excited about teaching in Class 4. Most of my spare time is taken up spending time with my two lovely children although I do enjoy meeting friends, shopping and rock climbing. I enjoy teaching fun, creative and messy lessons! |
Sorrel DinwoodieStaff GovernorWorking at Crosby for many years, most of you will probably know me quite well already, for those that don't, I work mostly in Class 4 but spend some time in Class 3 and 2 during the week. As my girls, (who are now in their twenties) were Crosby pupils, I have been in the unique position of seeing how decisions made as staff and governors directly impact the children. To see how parents’ and pupils’ views are listened to, and how it shapes changes in school. |
