The Governors of Crosby-Eden C of E Primary School are seeking to appoint a new Headteacher.
Crosby-on-Eden C of E Primary School is a small school with a 3 – 11 age range and the school converted to Academy Status in November 2012. The school has excellent links with the church, local community and cluster schools and we are highly committed to working effectively and constructively in partnership with parents.
Our Governors are involved in every aspect of school life and work effectively to ensure dynamic leadership, high standards and sound management. Our school is vibrant, exciting and led with vision. In 2013, we were judged as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. In 2022 we achieved ‘Good’ in our SIAMs inspection.
We are looking to recruit a dynamic and forward thinking Headteacher to lead the school. The successful candidate will be strategic, creative and approachable and must be willing to work collaboratively with both colleagues and the Governing Body whilst possessing a clear vision to move the school forward.
This is an excellent opportunity for an existing Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher or Senior Leader to progress their career.
We seek a committed and dynamic leader who:
- Will embrace, sustain and have a vision for developing the Christian ethos of our school
- Has a passion for teaching and learning
- Has the knowledge and expertise to make an impact on pupil achievement and personal development in a positive and successful way
- Is highly motivated, focused and proactive
- Has excellent communication skills
- Is keen to develop relationships with all stakeholders
- Models exceptional standards of professionalism
- Demonstrates integrity, sensitivity and kindness, as well as a sense of humour

All posts involving direct contact with children are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and the successful applicant will be required to hold or undergo a suitable enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service disclosure. However, amendments to the ROA 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020)) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are 'protected'. These are not subject to disclosure to employers and cannot be considered. Guidance and criteria on the filtering of these cautions and convictions can be found on the Ministry of Justice website or via the Unlock website.
Short-listed candidates will be asked to complete a criminal record self-disclosure form to provide details of all unspent convictions and those that would not be filtered or protected, to be returned to the school prior to the date of the interview. You may be asked for further information about your criminal history during the recruitment process. If your application is successful, this criminal record self-disclosure information will be checked against information from the Disclosure & Barring Service before your appointment is confirmed.
In addition to the above, the school reserves the right to carry out an online search on short-listed candidates. This will only include a search for information which is publicly available online.
Please note it is an offence to apply for the role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.”
